5 Colorado Events You Can’t Miss Labor Day Weekend
Labor Day throughout Colorado is known for great barbecues and get-together’s with your family and friends. But it’s also known for great events happening throughout the state.
If you don’t plan on inviting everyone to your house for the last holiday weekend of the summer season, you definitely want to check out some of these events that are just a short drive away (or right next door) from Northern Colorado.
So pack the family in the car and get ready to have some fun! Because as soon as we know it, the flakes will be flying as the cold air hits!
A Taste of Colorado, which kicks off on Friday, September 1st and runs until Monday, September 4th, occurs at Civic Center Park in Denver. They have more than 50 of your favorite restaurants for you to check out by utilizing the ticket system that the event has in place. Plus your kids will love it as they have music, magicians, carnival rides, and more for kids of all ages to take part in!
Thunder in the Rockies kicks off in Loveland on September 1st and runs until September 4th with some great concerts running all weekend to check out. Gary Allan, Texas Hippie Coalition, and Joan Jett will all take the stage throughout the weekend, along with over 100 biker-related product and service vendors on site. All tickets are general admission.
The Colorado State Fair actually kicks off on August 25th in Pueblo, but runs until Labor Day Monday. Performing over Labor Day Weekend are Skillet, Hunter Hayes, and many other events that the family can take part in.
The annual Wild West Air Fest will be happening in Steamboat Springs on September 2nd from 9am – 3pm. If you have kids, they are destined to love this event from start to finish. Watch the Rocky Mountain Renegades in action, along with a WWII Navy Torpedo Avenger performing a bombing simulation. They will also be offering plane rides on a first come, first serve basis.
Hudson Gardens in Littleton will be holding their third Brews and Views Beer Fest on Saturday, September 2nd from 2pm – 5pm. They’ll have beers from over 30 Colorado breweries plus the views are simply stunning! You can buy your tickets in advance or on the day of the event.
