5 Things to Do with Dad on Fathers Day in Colorado
Fathers Day is this weekend, and you may need some ideas to celebrate with dad. Well there are plenty of things to do in Colorado to show him how special he is.
From different events going on throughout the state, to just being able to spend some one-on-one time with him, Colorado provides the perfect backdrop and plenty of opportunities for dad to enjoy his day.
Here are five possibilities that I highly recommend for this Sunday. And to all the dads out there, thank you for everything you do day in/day out. We know your kids appreciate it and look up to you each day!
The 24th annual Frisco BBQ Challenge is this weekend, and it will give you the perfect opportunity to kick off the weekend with dad a little early while enjoying some great food at the same time. The event kicks off Friday and runs from 11 am – 9 pm and then Saturday the festival runs from 10 am – 6 pm. They’ll have over 70 participants competing against each other for the best BBQ, so you know you won’t be walking away hungry with the food sampling they’ll have. Every dad loves BBQ, so feed his stomach with this great event!
This is one of my favorite things to do with my family, and I think you’re dad would love it as well. Even if he isn’t a hiker, you can always just pack a lunch and eat it while enjoying the views that RMNP gives you. Plus if your dad is adventurous, why not give Trail Ridge Road a try and make it all the way to the top? Once you get to other side, the views are equally amazing and will allow you to get that time with dad that you deserve!
The Rockies are one of the best teams in baseball right now, and this Sunday they take on the San Francisco Giants to try to pad their lead in the NL West. There are still plenty of great seats available for the game this weekend, so take dad so he can enjoy America’s Pastime with a cold beer in his hand!
Colorado National Speedway will have another Father’s Day Super Sunday Monster Truck show this Sunday, so get dad revved up and bring him out to the action! Gates open at 4 pm on Sunday with the event starting at 5 pm. Tickets are only $10 for children between 3 – 12 and adults are only $18.
One of my favorite restaurants, The Post in Longmont, will be having an American Classic Car Show and Auction on Saturday from 11 am – 3 pm. Every dad loves to check out cars from yesteryear, and The Post gives you that chance along with having some great BBQ and beer. Plus the Post is known for their fried chicken, so this definitely has to be on a to-do list to do with dad this weekend!
