Attempted Abduction in Fort Collins Tuesday Night
Deputies received a report of an attempted abduction Tuesday night in Fort Collins, and they need help identifying and catching the suspect.
According to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, deputies learned that a 12-year-old boy ventured into a field in Fort Collins/unincorporated Larimer County near the 4400 block of East Mulberry Street to search for his siblings. He noticed someone behind a tree, and assumed it was one of his siblings.
As the boy walked closer, an adult male emerged from behind the tree, mumbling and appearing to be highly intoxicated. The man approached the boy, grabbed his wrist, and pulled the boy toward him.
Luckily the boy was able to break free and ran home. He was left with minor scratches to his wrist, but was not seriously injured. His siblings had been playing in a different part of the field, and did not encounter the man.
The suspect is described as a white male between the age of 45 and 50 with messy, short black hair. His face was unshaven with a chin-only salt-and-pepper-colored goatee and no mustache. He was wearing a dirty short sleeved royal blue collared shirt and dirty tan cargo pants.
Deputies searched the immediate and surrounding areas, but did not locate the suspect. At this time, it is unclear what the suspect's intentions were.
