I'm shocked by this story! I use to work in retail so I find it hard not to look past the good intentions and pick out something greedy. I'm happy to say this isn't one of those times. Check this out...

Wal-Mart is plans to hire more than 100,00 jobless veterans in an effort to jump-start the economy. If that wasn't awesome enough, they also plan to buy more products that are made right here in the US of A!

Why the change? Well, as it turns out the corporate giant is making an effort to improve their image. They're always catching crap for their low wages, terrible hours, and unfair treatment to their employees.

In my opinion, this move could actually change the world. Now I'm not big into this stuff but as I understand, if we're doing well, the rest of the world is doing well. Perhaps the biggest change we're going to see is the snowball effect to follow. If it's only thing I know about retail, it's the fact that retail is a huge competition. Now in order to compete, all the retailers will be following the trend of creating jobs.

I really do hope more companies adopt these changes. Veterans are way over-qualified for working the check lanes in grocery stores but hey, it's better than being jobless. Tell me your thoughts though... Do you feel that we're starting to see a shift in the way this country does business? Or do you think this is some scheme backed by greed and ill intentions?
