Here’s Why We Smell Smoke in Northern Colorado Today
The Ryan Fire burning near the Colorado-Wyoming state line has grown to almost 20-thousand acres since it began10 days ago. Winds are pushing smoke into our area from that wildfire 27 miles northwest of Walden, CO. Extremely strong southwest to west winds are forecast again today (Monday) with gust potential of 40 mph. The fire began September 15, 2018, and its cause is not known yet.
The smoke has been credited for our recent brilliant orange sunrises and sunsets.
