Hottest, Most Miserable Summers: How Colorado Ranks
It's been a weird summer in Colorado, but at least I don't want to be like this guy in the photo because I'm so sick of dry, 90+-degree days!
I can't remember a summer when we had rain pretty much every day like we have in 2017. Climate change is being mentioned as the cause, much like any time we have unseasonable weather for an extended period of time. Still, while it's hard for someone outdoorsy like me to plan for much when it's like this, it has been nice not having to water the dickins out of my lawn and garden!
Now, let's get back to the more typical summer situation in Colorado, and break out Thrillist's lineup of states with the most and the least hot, miserable summers - and forget this one, when some of us are sweating just sitting still.
Typically, Colorado has far from the worst summers in the country. Who does:
- New Mexico
- South Carolina
Look up those places for an inexpensive, late-summer vacation! Hey, I'm not too proud to admit we did that once with Phoenix, for a family visit.
- Rhode Island
- New Jersey
Pretty sure I don't agree with Vermont or New Jersey. The humidity in both makes a 70-degree day feel like 100! But it's good to see we could be doing a lot worse.
