Much like the Keith Urban song "Long, Hot Summer", we here in Northern Colorado are feeling that heat as we are now officially in a drought.

It seems that the intersecting county lines of Boulder, Larimer and Weld counties in Northern Colorado appear to be hit the worst in our state outside of the southwest corner of Colorado.

According to an article in the Coloradoan, we have only received 1.3 inches of rain since June. The yellow you are seeing on the map does not indicate an official drought... Only abnormally dry. My almost dried out and nearly dead lawn would beg to differ on that, however.

Fall needs to hurry up and get here to cool things down and maybe give us some of those amazing fall showers before the snow starts to fall in just a few short months.
