Shinedown to Release New Acoustic Album

Shinedown is planning on releasing a new acoustic album. The beauty of it is that you can already hear the songs, because they are all covers. If you are lucky enough to win tickets to our show (find out how to win tickets here), you just may get to hear some of the songs. Shinedown let fans send in nominations on it’s Facebook page and vote for the songs they wanted to hear. Scroll down to see the results and listen to the originals.

The first song picked was the classic hits by Otis Redding. First recorded in 1967, it has since been covered by the likes of Pearl Jam, Willie Nelson, and Bob Dylan among others.

A Clash song from 1979. The lyrics of the original were inspired by a nuclear reactor meltdown at Three Mile Island in Pennsylvania.

The Phil Collins jam you may have heard once or twice in your life. The song was on the 1981 album Face Value, and may or may not be about someone drowning.

Soul Asylum released this song in 1992 on the album Grave Dancers Union. The song is less about out-of-control trains and more about missing kids. Kleenex not included.
