Back in March Twinkie lovers all over the world rejoiced when we got word that the real Twinkies were coming back... Apollo Global Management, LLC and Metropoulos & Co. purchased the Hostess and Dolly Madison brands for $410 million, but they never said when we would get our beloved snacks back... Until now!

Twinkies will hit store shelves nationally by late July, Michael Cramer, executive vice president of Hostess Brands LLC told NBC News on Thursday. "We expect to be making and selling in July," he said. "Probably the later half of the month before the product hits the stores."

If you can't wait until July, and you haven't looked down the snack food isle lately, there is hope... Flowers Foods, Inc., which purchased some of Hostess’ other assets, has its own Twinkies lookalikes. Its Blue Bird brand sells Bingles while its Mrs. Freshley label sells Dreamies cream-filled cakes. McKee Foods’ Little Debbie brand also makes its own Twinkies twin called a Cloud Cake. The name’s even trademarked.

The only concern would be if Hostess changed any ingredients, which Cramer said will not happen.

"Everything will be as delicious and fattening as it always was," Cramer said.

Is it July yet?
