Although they are only open Thursday-Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., you should definitely find the time to stop by the Caribbean Food Shack and try out some of their authentic island meals. You can’t see the eatery from the street, but once you step inside the building in which it’s located, you’ll feel like you’ve just landed a spot at a seaside establishment, complete with fried catfish, mako shark roti, and mouthwatering Cuban sandwiches.

The Mountain Cafe

The Mountain Cafe is a hidden gem in Fort Collins, and perfect for grabbing breakfast on mornings when places like Snooze and Lucile’s have lines out the door. Diners can find all the traditional breakfast staples on the menu, as well as tasty lunch choices too at extremely reasonable prices. While it might not be the most glamorous joint, the fact that it’s located right in the middle of Mountain Avenue means this quaint cafe still has that “Old Town feel” to it.

B&B’s Pickle Barrel

122 West Laurel Street

Within walking distance of CSU’s campus, the Pickle Barrel has long been a favorite for students and Fort Collins residents alike. Whether you stop by for a (massively huge) sandwich during breakfast or lunch, or are simply searching for a low-key place to drink local microbrews and relax while watching a game, the Barrel is the place to go.

Besides food, there’s cocktails, tons of local and domestic brews, and a feel good bonus – a portion of all proceeds made from dine-ins always go back to a local charity. Adding to the creative atmosphere, the CR features hand-crafted goods as well as art for sale, games available to play during your visit, karaoke nights, and other special events happening all the time.
